2015 legislator per diems and travel expenses

State lawmakers receive millions of dollars a year in reimbursements for travel and daily stipends for every day they are at the state Capitol. The amount of the per diems are set by federal law, but it's the lawmakers themselves who report how often they are in Albany. Legislators put in for $2.5 million in daily stipends for their trips to Albany for the first two quarters of 2015, a 6 percent increase from the same period last year. The system has been at the heart of some criminal cases for the lax system. The database below shows the amount paid to each lawmaker through the second quarter of 2015.
